I bought this album purely on a whim after hearing "Selling The Drama" on the radio. I found myself really digging the song when I heard it, so I wrote down some of the lyrics so I would be able to look the song up later on Spotify. A day later, I was able to and found out it was sung by a band called Live, which I was surprised I had never heard of before. I subsequently looked up their album on Amazon and found out it was only $5. I sealed the deal and bought the 'Throwing Copper' album. I ended up buying the 'Distance To Here' album as well. After only hearing "Selling the Drama," I knew this band was legit. Buying these two albums were an easy decision. One of the best bands I have ever heard!Songs that are highlights for me on the Throwing Copper album are "Selling the Drama", of course, "I Alone" (which sounds like a song that 90's Alanis Morissette could've recorded, it's a fantastic song), "Iris" (has become my favorite album song and is seriously giving me Our Lady Peace vibes), "Shit Towne", and "White, Discussion" (an extremely passionate and breath-taking song). All the songs from both albums are fantastic, let me tell you.Wow! I just can't believe I hadn't heard of them until now, considering how many albums they have released. I have to say that they are eerily reminding me of another band that released an album the same year that Throwing Copper was released (1994 - my birth year). That album is 'Naveed' by the epic band Our Lady Peace (I own all of OLP's albums). I don't know if these two bands were inspirations of each other, but the music is so similar. Any of the songs on Throwing Copper could have easily been Our Lady Peace songs and vice versa. It's amazing. When I hear Live's songs all I think about is Our Lady Peace and Alanis Morissette (I own all of her albums post Jagged Little Pill). I'm really glad that I bought these albums. They will be well played and well cherished. Thank you Live! My new favorite band!
