Used as speaker wire in hi-fi stereo setup. Equivalent to a similar product offered as speaker wire for $232 a set (Anti-Cables). The coating is quite durable, and designed to resist shorting at several orders of magnitude a greater current than what is used for speaker applications. I tried to burn off the coating with a lighter to no effect, so ended up using a a small rust remover grinding wheel on my drill to sand off the coating so that i could install each cut end to my speaker binding post. I created a small shepherd hook at each end with pliers really had to crank down on the binding post lock nut to keep the wire in place. Installing bare wire end jumpers for the dual binding posts on my Paradigm Studio 80 speakers was a real challenge. I spent maybe 2 hours total installing the wire into my system. The effort was well worth it. I immediately noticed a leap in clarity in the treble and high midrange. I use a Bryston 4b-st for amplification, connected to an Anthem MRX510 with Arc for processing with Audioquest columbia interconnects. My previous speaker cables had been 12 gauge generic speaker wire from home depot, bested by 12 gauge bi-wired, bested by DIY White Lightning speaker cable (woods patio power extension cord cut to equal lengths and bi-wired). The white lightning cables had just been compared to a set of $300 Audioquest Rocket 33 bi-wire cables, and the DIY cables matched or exceeded the Audioquest product in a a number of categories on a number of different sources and recorded material. This magnet wire exceeded my previous cables in every category, compared on all the same sources and recorded material. I did notice a slight characteristic noted by other people who have used magnet wire for speaker cable, a slight ringing, like the speakers were set in a metal drain pipe and turned up a bit too loud and the walls gave the sound a slight metallic echo. This has disappeared after a day or two of playing while i was at work. some people say that all speaker wire should sound the same, and that there is no such thing as speaker wire burn in. I would never be able to convince such people otherwise, but i can tell you about what i observed in my system and my satisfaction with how this experiment turned out. The soundstage is very wide (well outside the speakers, and even wider than my room), but shallow and lacks some of the pinpoint imaging i've seen with other speaker cable; but that is more than offset by the treble and midrange clarity. I may buy another reel to bi-wire the speakers to see if that enhances the bass response any, but I'll probably be content with this set-up for a while. Best $25 I've spent on a Hi-Fi audio component.Worked just as expected. Wound 4 crossover inductors, two 2mH and two .5mH. I did this on a homemade rig using my wood lathe. Still more than half the spool left. Those four inductors would have cost me more than this spool. I didn't have any issues with the wire unspooling as some have mentioned but my system does allow me to adjust the tension on the spool.PerfectoThe 24AWG Magnetic wire is flawless. It has no kinks or bends which is critical when making Tattoo Machine Coils. The pictures I’ve attached are a Tattoo Machine I made with the first set of coils I made using the TEMCo Wire. You can’t see the wire since I color wrapped the coils but if you touch them they feel so flat and smooth you wouldn’t know there was a helical spiral winding of wire underneath . I was really impressed with how tight I was able to wind these coil and that’s due to the perfection of the wire and It not having any bends or kinks in it. Thank You TEMCo for such a great product and for making my job easier..!!! I build a lot of one off custom Tattoo Machines and they all need coilsThe only reason I did not post a pic of the product is because I did not wanted Amazon to go over my photo album on my phone.OTHER THAN THAT THE PRODUCT IS GOOD QUALITY. 4+ ⭐'SWorks as advertisedExcellent product! True 14 gauge solid copper enameled wire made in the USA! I use this for wrapping toroids when making antenna impedance matching transformers. I couldn’t be happier. This wire is highly recommended.Arrived very fast, packed very sturdy. I got the 1lb 24 gauge wire. I was very happy to see it came on a spool. Both ends are visible as seen in my photo. I twisted, rolled, bent and flexed the heck out of it to see how it reacted. It was very flexible, held the shape I put it in, most importantly the enamel coating did not crack or chip at all. I bought this 1lb spool to see what the qualiy was and I'm very happy with it. I plan to buy a larger spool. If there is Con, I'd say there is an area on the spool where the wire wasn't wound straight. UPDATE. I've been using this wire for a bit now and I'm very impressed with it. No issues, no cracks!Product as advertised, good courteous service, delivered as promised. Will order again from them to fufill my needs.
