Do not be afraid to buy this tool. I’m not a plumber but I have experience in the trades. The first (3) 1/2” inch crimps i did were perfect. No leaks , no issues. This tool has been re-designed to crimp exactly like the more expensive power press tools. This re-design crimps from two sides instead of one. Just keep the tool in the same position during the crimping process. Pump until you can’t pump anymore and the jaws completely close. You can use a little WD-40 on the outside of the fitting to help it release with no issue. Best part, I can do small plumbing jobs without having to worry about using a torch. Total peace of mind. Torches are a bad idea and not an option in a multi unit occupied building. So glad I got this tool.
